Offering of bb Necklace in the Egyptian Temples of Greco-Roman Period Applied to the Eastern Wall of the Textile Room “D” in the Edfu Temple

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on some ideas related to the offering of the Necklace bb On the Eastern Wall of the Fabrics Room “D” in the Temple of Edfu. It also provides a translation of the texts contained in the offering of the Necklace bb and its connection to the Deities of the Temple of Edfu. The Temple of Edfu is a Unique Temple not only because of its Architectural Construction, but because of some of the Topics Covered in the Walls of this Temple of various offerings and rituals among which is the Offering of the Necklace bb, This offering is located on the Eastern wall (Third level), The Offering of the Necklace bb is Considered one of the Important and Necessary Offerings that take place in the Temple. This Necklace bb was studded with colored gemstones, which gave it an aesthetic appearance. It is designed to cover the entire neck and upper part of the chest, the offering of the Necklace bb gave protection to the one who wore it, helped with resurrection and living again, and protected the necks of the deities from any evil, in addition to the apparent purpose of adornment.
