Abstract

The study is concerned with a Turkish copy of Al-Qazwini’s manuscript The Wonders of Creatures, which is preserved in The Egyptian National Library and Archives, the study deals with introducing the author of the manuscript as one of the most important scientific encyclopedias, in which Al-Qazwini deals with astronomy and geography in an accurate and simplified description, The Encyclopedia of the Wonders of Creatures is one of the most famous Islamic manuscripts adorned with painting, as it copied and decorating by the artists of the Ottoman painting school; during the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent 926-974 AH/1520-1566 AD, The study was divided into several sections: The first section dealt with a statistical table of painting and their classification, The second section dealt with the descriptive and analytical study for examples of manuscript painting, The third section dealt with the Characteristics and features of the manuscript, the fourth section the technical center of manuscript’s painting, and the end of the research with the conclusion and the results.
